 I am a freelance copy editor and proofreader based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have a particular interest in working on scientific and technical publications. 

I copy-edit academic papers and journal articles on a wide range of topics that included engineering and the biological sciences. 

In addition, I copy-edit books for publishers in Social and Biological Sciences. 

My early career was spent in industrial microbiology research on the detection of food poisoning organisms, and the detection of toxins in the environment.  This enables me to understand and edit a wide range of scientific subjects.

I have completed a number of CIEP training courses, and I work in UK or US English.
